By order of a big Finnish door manufacturer Mill Panel developed a door with acoustic ratings but also very high thermal performances ( 0,65W/m.K). It is an exterior Passive Door, designed to achieve at least F30.
This door has been tested on the 13th December in Tallin (Estonia) in a Mahogany timber frame according EN 1634-1:2008 and achieved F45, towards the fire. The sizes of the door blank were 2300*1000*76mm. Because of this result it is allowed to enlarge the blank in height as well in width up to a total expansion of the surface of 20%.
With this door Mill Panel proves that you don’t have to compromise to combine the often contrary performance requirements of a unique product.

Mill Panel inserts chip in sheet material to safeguard guarantee & quality. |

Mill Panel fits sheeting material with a chip to safeguard guarantee and quality.
Mill Panel door panels are among the best in the world. One inevitable consequence of this is the production of imitations by Chinese and French manufacturers, among others.
To protect our doors from imitators and our customers from buying panels that turn out to be fakes, from 15 November 2010 onwards all Mill Panel doors will be fitted with a patented identification device. This consists of a chip which is built into the door panel, positioned at a depth of 8 cm in the frame wood. The chip can be read off outside the door and is sealed in by a watertight plug, the colour of which is clearly visible from the outside. The colour of the plug indicates what type of door it is.
The chip contains a unique code to which Mill Panel is able to attach important information such as production date, guarantee period of 10 years, type of adhesive and components used. Information can also be stored to specify the equipment involved in making the door panel and the time of manufacture. It is completely impossible to manipulate the data stored in the chip. This provides a guarantee of authenticity, so that we can always say with perfect confidence: "This product is 100% Mill Panel!"
Practical information for Joinery Manufacturers and other final processors.
Mill Panel door panels can be trimmed on the chip side (= hinge side) by a maximum of 6 cm without the chip being affected. Machining of the glued-in, watertight plug is no problem whatsoever. On the remaining sides there is no limit to the amount which can be trimmed. More information on this subject is available at: www.millpanel.com/en/downloads. |
